Granular Activated Carbon
Granular activated carbon has a larger particle size than powdered active, but it is mainly produced on the basis of coconut shell, coal or wood. The particle size of granular carbons is important. Generally, 12*40 mesh size is used for decolorization and 8*30 mesh size is used for water purification. These two particle sizes are the most commonly used. In granular activated carbon, the Iodine index is the most important factor for quality. The higher the iodine ratio, the higher the effectiveness of the product.
